“Somewhere impossible light still shines…”

The opening line to my favorite Ryan Adams song off the new album, “Cobwebs”. The opening to an amazing Ryan Adams show. And the commencement of an awesome trip which I will get to later.

There are no words to describe an intimate moment experienced through music. You know, those times when the music seems to just hum in your soul, in the innermost part of your being? The melody and the harmony and the meshing of the sounds from the instruments somehow reach into your body and everything is just beautiful.

The only thing I can say is that the show at Brixton Academy in London put on by Ryan Adams and The Cardinals was absolutely perfect. The sound, the seats, the company, the venue, the songs, the lyrics, the band, the crowd, the banter, the jokes, the city. It would have been perfectly surreal had we met him after standing by the backstage door for a while, but oh well.. we tried! Maybe we should have taken cookies for them like this other girl…. Taking notes for next time!

Here’s a little taste, but the rest of the show will be safely guarded in my memory. These are not my pictures, so just to give you an idea, I’m posting some of the venue, as well. Enjoy!

looks like a great concert! This makes me think of being in London with Nati and her three older friends and us sitting through a protestant worship service because it was too cold to be outside. I was so nervous b/c they were catholic but it was great. except your concert was way better, uncomparably better.
